Standard Guitar Tuning Notes
If you are tuning to standard EADGBE tuning, here’s the reference:
- E – 6th string (lowest, thickest)
- A – 5th string
- D – 4th string
- G – 3rd string
- B – 2nd string
- E – 1st string (highest, thinnest)
Why Use a Chromatic Tuner?
A chromatic tuner detects all notes, not just standard tuning. This makes it perfect for:
- Alternate tunings (Drop D, Open G, DADGAD, etc.)
- Other stringed instruments (ukulele, violin, bass)
- Quick pitch checks for singers and instrumentalists
Pro Tips for Accurate Tuning
- Tune in a quiet environment to avoid background noise.
- Pluck the string gently to get a stable reading.
- Check tuning twice — strings can slip slightly after adjustment.
